GINSBERG ON BIKO
On Thursday, 20 September 2007 the museum, in collaboration with the Steve Biko Foundation, hosted a special function in honour of the legacy of Stephen Bantu Biko. Community members from Ginsberg were invited to share their recollections with an audience of learners and teachers.
The speakers included Pro Mangcu, Ms Thembeka and Nonesi Duna and Messrs Hlanganisa and Fekile Mlinda who all knew Biko personally as neighbours or friends. The audience, consisting of learners from Forbes Grant and the Fort Beaufort District, provided excellent entertainment in the form of original poetry and dramatised poetry. A special thank you to Mr Bam from Bhisho High, Mr Piliso from Forbes Grant and Mr Pule from Kama High who all contributed to a successful function. The function, including the precious recollections, was recorded on video for archival purposes. |
